Christos Anesti!

- Christos Anesti! Alithos Anesti!

Christ has Risen! Indeed He is Risen!

Happy Easter!

The most important Holiday to a Greek Orthodox is Holy Friday (Good Friday) and Pascha (Easter). Greek Easter often falls on a different day then that of American Easter. One reason is because Greek Easter always comes after the Jewish Passover and the other reason is because when determining the date the Greeks follow the Julian Calendar instead of the Gregorian.

This year for Easter we kept it simple. We went to Taps in Brea. It was really nice spending time with the whole Angelus Family. We don't get together too often, so when we do it's always a treat. On the Angelus side of the family Dean and I have 4 niece's, and they are all growing so quickly.

After dinner we went back to Dean's Dad's house. We played the egg cracking game. A traditional game played with the Easter Eggs. In Greek Tradition, the eggs are all dyed a deep red to symbolize the blood of Christ. Then each person takes an egg and challengers attempt to crack each others egg. The breaking of the eggs symbolizes Christ breaking from the tomb.
