100 Things

1. I am a Christian

2. I grew up in a Friends Church

3. Where I sang in the kids choir

4. And the youth choir

5. And the adult choir

6. In 2005 I was baptised Greek Orthodox

7. In August of 2005 I had an absolutely wonderful Greek wedding to an absolutely wonderful Greek man.

8. I feel that I am extremely fortunate to have married the man of my dreams and my soulmate

9. We had two first dances (traditional American first dance & traditional Greek first dance)

10. We may have had too many people in our wedding; 24 people!

11. I had so much fun at our wedding, I wish that we could do it again!

12. I love traditions

13. And I think that they are very important

14. I grew up in a family of 5

15. On 10/21/04 I lost my dad in a terrible car accident

16. It comforts me to know that he is with God and his family and friends that have passed on before him

17. I have the best mother in the whole world!

18. I have two older sisters by birth

19. They are 5 years older than me

20. And they are twins

21. I have 4 older brothers and 2 older sisters by marriage

22. I am the youngest of all =)

23. And I am a wee bit spoiled

24. I have 5 nieces, 1 nephew (on the way), 1 unknown (on the way) and 1 goddaughter

25. My name means follower of Christ

26. I am sometimes called shorty

27. Which is ironic considering I'm 5'9"

28. I am also called Freak by my bestfriend, who shares my name

29. But she spells it all wrong =)

30. I played Softball and Basketball when I was younger

31. But I was terrible at both

32. So I did Cheer and Dance instead

33. Which I absolutely loved

34. I am a true blonde in every sense

35. I am a big dreamer

36. I love driving down PCH with my windows down, starting at the beginning of Huntington Beach and driving to Capistrano Beach then back to Huntington

37. I love the smell of the bonfires

38. I love the sound of the waves

39. One of my favorite things to do is to sit on the beach and take pictures of everything around me (the waves, the surfers, the birds, the sky, the pier, etc.)

40. I think blue is my favorite color

41. It depends on my mood

42. I have never been able to pick a favorite song or artist

43. That always depends on my mood too

44. Although I am gaining a whole lot of respect for Joe Strummer (the singer of the clash)

45. I have been to Greece twice

46. I would go every summer if I could

47. My favorite spots in Greece are: Prodromos (the village that my husbands parents grew up in and where his Yia-yia (grandmother) still lives and the Island of Santorini.

48. I believe that Audrey Hepburn was one of the greatest actresses of all times

49. Throughout my life my family has had: 8 dogs, 9 cats, 2 turtles, 3 rabbits, 2 mice, a lot of hamsters, 1 chinchilla, 4 chickens, 4 birds and I'm sure many others that I just can't remember.

50. I now have just 1 dog, his name is Petey, he's a cutie, but his ear-piercing yapping is not

51. I am ashamed to admit, I do treat him like a human, as if he is my child

52. God, my family and my friends are the most important thing to me

53. I think all three are required to make it through life

54. I am not at all career oriented

55. I believe that I'm destined to be a housewife

56. I definitely think this country could use more of them

57. I love to cook

58. I love to host parties at my house

59. I think party-planning is much fun

60. I am terribly afraid of spiders

61. I love the sound of rain, especially at night while I'm lying in bed

62. I love it when it's really windy out

63. When it's really windy, I can be found sitting on my front porch with my husband and my dog watching and listening to it.

64. Every year I anticipate for the weather to turn cold just so that I can use my fireplace.

65. I do not adapt well to change

66. I have two favorite restaurants. Basilico's in Huntington Beach and Roman Cucina in Sunset Beach

67. Lately I have found myself hooked on Law and Order (SVU & CI), CSI (Las Vegas), Without a Trace and Two and a Half Men

68. I miss Friends and Sex and the City

69. My driving has often been compared to Mr.Toad's Wild Ride

70. I think my driving it just fine. =)

71. I love to oil paint, I just never have the time to anymore

72. I really want to learn how to knit and to sew

73. I think it would be a blast to go to bartending school

74. And culinary school ... just for the fun of it

75. I used to claim: "Sleep is highly over-rated"

76. Ahh the good ol' days

77. I am a talker .... in other words good luck shuttin' me up

78. Right about now I'm regretting doing this 100 Things, I'm stumped, can't think of anything else about me

79. My top 5 favorite movies are: Roman Holiday, My Fair Lady, Funnyface, Clueless and Casablanca

80. I love to shop

81. I have never had a pen-pal

82. I am a procrastinator

83. I love starting new projects

84. But get bored too quickly with them and never finish

85. I hope to one day be able to say that I have visited every state in the U.S.

86. So far I have only visited: Nevada, Arizona, New York and Pennsylvania

87. I am extremely proud to be an American

88. I always get teary-eyed when I hear the National Anthem and Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A."

89. I am a very emotional person

90. I believe that a person can groove to organ music

91. I do not have a green thumb

92. But I do enjoy making the attempt

93. I do not like onions

94. I once road my bike from La Mirada to San Diego -- 100 miles!

95. I am not afraid to admit when I am wrong

96. I hope to someday to speak Greek fluently

97. I enjoy hanging out at my mom's house by the fire pit with the rest of the family

98. I currently own a Ford

99. Mainly because I felt it was very important to purchase an American made vehicle

100. I do not believe that respect is earn, but rather every living thing should automatically have your respect. I do however believe that respect could be lost.

Freak, I love it! You crack me up. Most things on this list are true, some things I think are not. You know, the organ music thing..... not happening. :)

not a single word about lighthouses? How can this be? Gosh you've changed so much, it's like I don't even know you anymore! =) Ok, so I am completely aware that this is nothing short of bizarre hearing from me after all these years. What can I say ~ maybe you and 'crazy girl' can make me an honorary freak for a day... eh? Aloha, peaches.
